Optimistic Nut
Missed a sitter and fucked up a simple pass. Three more years.
Aiston
He's a goalscorer though.
Optimistic Nut
Can’t blame ‘split strikers’ today either.
TRon
He'll be injured half of next season as well, doesn't even make sense from the POV of a championship club either.
Yorkie
Probably would've made a profit on him, or at least got our money back, a couple of years ago. Bet we'll see even £5m by the time he does eventually go (in the event he doesn't see out his contract, which is obviously very possible.

So we rewarded him with another contract.
Yorkie
Is that true? I feel like if we'd wanted to get rid of him, we would have done.
ED209
I only just realised he has been play today after an hour. Totally anonymous

Aiston
Horrible first half, missed a couple of sittings and a couple of terrible passes that could have left us 1v1 with the keeper. Anonymous 2nd half, think he only touched the ball when he mis-hit it towards Joelinton.
TRon
Made Joelinton look pretty decent tbf.

Us topping up 20 grand a week for two years is only a two million hit though. With a Champo contract you can add massive promotion bonuses, because if you achieve it you'll be able to pay them. And fifteen plus a season strikers are the easiest way to go up.
HaydnNUFC
Always thought that at this level he does decent stuff in build ups and outside the box but when it comes to when it actually matters, like finishing or that rancid attempt at a pass, he's just not good enough.

Well, provided he stays fit, could well turn out to be a shrewd move to give him that contract. Doubt we'd get much of a fee for him now anywyay.

I thought he was on more than that. He got his teeth knocked out a few years back for flapping his gums about how much he earns.
Stottie Posted Monday at 02:43 Share Posted Monday at 02:43 Sorry if unclear, but what I meant was when we had a marketable asset with him, we should have topped up his wages at his new club to let us cash in on the selling fee. And then bought a Prem level player, of course. We should not have let the deal fall through and become stuck with him because he wanted twenty or thirty grand more than WBA or someone else wanted to pay. That sounds like a solvable problem. Beth Posted Tuesday at 21:43 Share Posted Tuesday at 21:43 Only logic to me is that he's a 20-25 goal a season Championship player (if he stays fit) so its a relatively low wage gamble in case we go down, should have been for only 2 years though not 3.
Fantail Breeze Posted Tuesday at 21:46 Share Posted Tuesday at 21:46 It feels like we’ve just made our first signing for the Championship next season.

Even if we stay up he now commands a fee instead of a free transfer. No brainier really tbf and the length of contract is probably at his agents insistence to cover himself also.
